Apart from the news on the mainpage I found another article on Borsod Online.

To summarize, it says that the choir and the orchestra will be the Ede Reményi Chamber Orchestra complemented with members and singers of the Miskolc National Theater, plus the Bartók choir (from Miskolc too). There will be 4 classical solist, a not named American singer (most likely Lori Lewis), Judit V. Molnár (a Hungarian soprano singer), plus two guys, whose contract is under negotiation in these days. There will be more than 100 musicians on the stage.

These are incredible news for me since I think Lori is doing way better job than any other Therion soloist (including the classical concert's soloists). She knows the songs, she's comfortable with them, it won't be her debut concert with a metal band. The whole project seems a bit more compact and relaxed than the Romanian one which was a bit megalomaniac with too many musicians, small venue, etc... It seems much better for me. Molnár's voice will be a nice contrast to Lori's crystal clear, light voice, since she's more dramatic, and has a darker tone.
The weather's fine, but there might be a meteor shower.

Some people asked for some infos about how to get Miskolc. Of course first you'll have to get to Budapest. :) There is no direct bus to Miskolc, so you'll have to go by train. (Timetables, fares are here: http://www.elvira.hu/elvira.dll). If you're under 26 and the member of the EU, you can get a 33% discount from train tickets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the train station: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=hu&q=Budapest,+Hungary&ie=UTF8&ll=47.500373,19.083928&spn=0.004045,0.008669&t=h&z=17&om=1

Does it mean that we are not going to see/hear the original line-up from the GK tour in Miskolc + the choir and the orchestra?  :| That would be disappointing. I mean, the four of them (vocalists) could just sing Jingle Bells, Swedish folk songs or commercial slogans - it would still sound great. I would really like to see them once again.

Thanks, Lasse.

I hope Snowy and Katarina won't be there... They are cool, but I see no point of that much solo vocalists. They are no classical voices either.

What?!?  Lasse, I like you, I really do, and I'm thankful for all the information you gave us, but right now, forgive me, but I could just...ummmpfff... you for saying that (and so bluntly).  :x  I thought the point was in bringing classical and metal elements together.

Don't bite me. :D I just have my opinion.

It's that Katarina was off-key quite a lot in Budapest when I've seen them, and it's not something I would like to hear in their classical concert. I'm learning classical singing too and it bugged me a lot. Theion is opera-metal, and they only have one real classical singer on tour, let this event be different. Katarina and Snowy are very good rocky singers, very talented and cool people, but it's just two different things. Mats has his own roles in many of the songs, he sings his notes accurately, but I hope he will _not_ scream into the soprano's parts or sing along with them. I can't stand the Live in Mexico material because of him.

(Oh, come, Mats lovers, kill me! :P)

Fair enough.  :-) How can anyone do any harm to you? My humble apologies if I insulted you. You're entitled to your own opinion, of course. I was just being impulsive. And, we still owe you that beer, raw eggs or whatever classical singers drink  :-P

:x *pulls out a machine gun*

Noooo, joking! :P I love Mats' singing and I even prefer some of the Celebrators-versions over the studio versions, but still... it's just opinions! ;)

As for the concert: Actually I don't mind that much that Katarina and Snowy won't be there. I mean I just think that whatever they'll do, it will be great anyway (hopefully! :P ) and it's good that it won't be just another "regular" show. This is going to be something special! 8-)

Matt actually sings decent opera (not great but acceptable) he just screams too much at the wrong times lol. I think celebrators is my favorite therion album though.
I got issues

Okay, I've managed to load it in. There is no Therion material posted. None in the Opera Festival section and nothing with making a search on the site. The Hungarian part of this event really annoys me to hell. F***.

Hi everyone!

Let's sum up some principal questions for people who are foreign to Hungary:
1. Will there be any more or less organized group of Therion fans to travel with to and from Miskolc? I'm especially interested in 'from' part, because it seems that there is no direct train to Budapest after 20:02 on Saturday and we have to get to Budapest because our plane is too early in the Sunday morning...
2. Is there any exact pub to meet you people tomorrow evening? :)
3. Any Russians travelling by Aeroflot on 8:50 AM plane from Moscow on Friday? :)

1) No idea actually - I'll be going together with MissSwan and I guess we'll think of something when we meet tomorrow evening. As for the going back: I hope for a long aftershow party, but for us it's easier because we'll stay in Budapest till Monday...
2) http://www.megatherion.com/forum/index.php/topic,2732.0.html ;) No idea how to get there, though... hope Arina knows.
3) Also no idea, I'm from Germany! ;)

I won't make it to this show, but want to wish everybody going a great time.

When we went to show in Bucharest in December we felt that it was a once in a life time chance to see Therion perform with a full orchestra. Now you have the chance again and it will be something special. There were some problems before the previous show and I'm sure that the experienced gained will make this performance even better.

Don't forget that this is not just a special concert you are going to. This is also a chance to meet a lot of great people from many different countries. Take care of my friends and have fun.

1.I'm planning to talk with other people on this Nordic Mythology thing about going together to Miskolc, and that will be on this evening. I advice you to come if you want to have company. :) And I know nobody who's going with car, so I have no idea how could you reach your plane back :(
2. I don't want to drink before it, only after. :P :)
3. No idea either.

Hy all!
Sadly, I wont make it to the Norse Myth thingy, as I have been told about this only 10 minutes ago (guess I should check out the forum more often).

But anyways, I someone still read this topic this "late", here is a map about where your train will stop (Tiszai pályaudvar, most likely), and where the concert will be if I understand everything right.
So anyways.

Linky

What should be a red circle is the Görgey Artúr street, there is a green area called Népkert, where the Műjégpálya should be. (I hope its the one). Slightly showing on the map, but if you click one right, the "Tiszai Pályaudvar" should show up. I'm currently tryin to figure out wether or not any buses are available, but the site of the bus firm is a mess.
I dont know the scale of hte map, but the distance should be more than 1,5 km at a total max.

And, erm, how classy is this evening going to be? I'll probably show up (as I always do on conxcerts) in a shirt and jeans.

Edit: rail timetables for the trip back to BP.
Second edit: timetables from BP to Miskolc
We, for our selves are taking the 14.35 IC there.
The blue lines are IC, they cost about 500 HUF more (you have to buy a ticket for them), but they are quicker and cleaner and air-conditioned (!)
