I must say that the new Orphaned Land is a pretty nice listen.
Sure, I may not love every single song from the album, but I like them more often than not. It's a strong release.

I actually just discovered thm through this album. And now I'm in love with it and what other stuff I heard from them.

And as I loved the combination of metal and those rhythms, somebody suggested I listen to Myrath, a metal band from Tunisia. Give them a try.

the long awaited new cathedral and triptykon's debut are on the shelves!

they're also in my stereo  :-D


and for those who know and appreciate the french tech/prog death metal combo misanthrope, their side-project argile has just released the new album: monumental monolith.

New Celtic Fros^W^W Triptikon is very good. Perfect successor of Monotheist.

The new Avantasia Albums are pretty good too, especially Wicked Symphony. Especially tracks with Jorn Lande!

And last but absolutely not the least, Coheed And Cambria. It is the most listened band by me in the last nine month, and their new album is absolutely amazing! I Love Claudio voice, the song-writing, the concept. For me the best band that came out in the 00'

cathedral's new album sounds softer than their previous discography, a bit like a rock opera, but still distorted and gloomy.

Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time is great! It's the kind of album that you listen to from the beginning till the end, skipping no songs! Brand new BG anthems. I'm pretty addicted to it these days :-)

I like the music but quite dislike his voice, so I don't think I'll listen to the album too often. I just discovered them though, so it might change.

I'm not yet pass the intro song since I like it too much. Well, heard a bit of the 2nd and 3rd, but sounded 'too familiar', so I just went back to the first one.

I think it's one of their best albums. But I had to listen to it at least 3 times to fall in love with it :-)

I listened to the new Finntroll album recently, bought the special edition.
All I have to say is that it's pretty enjoyable. The slight hint of Black Metal is nicely added unto the tracks and the folk influence doesn't die. In other words, another quality release from Finntroll.

Should give a listen to it. Although I doubt I'll like it as much as their first releases.
IMO, since they added a drummer, things just began going downhill.

This LOTR stuff all the time bores me. I enjoyed very much their last album but... don't know, this new one was like a deja vu. And they pollute the songs with all those layers at once.

Got new Edenbridge album "Solitaire" and, counting that its my second favorite band, it took me like 10-15 listens before it started to grow on me, really weird experience. At first, i thought its their worse album to date, now i think its one of best. Also took a listen of new Tarja's album, that is surprisingly good, even her very avarage (for me) singing is quite listenable, probably will buy it. And listening to new Kamelot's album... and still think its worst album of their... but maybe it will grow on me like Edenbridge's  8-)

The new Iron Maiden is really good and quite a surpise for me.I also like Floor's new group "Revamp" but thought the last After Forever album was better.Alot of new stuff coming out one kinda off the wall is Blackmore's Night "Autumn Sky" ;I really like this group but they get the label of Renfaire music ,much more than that.

I love the latest from Leaves' Eyes - Njord.  Liv has such an amazing voice, delicate as a flower yet powerful enough to rock the Lyngen Alps.  I'm also into the latest from Epica - Design your Universe, I'm happy Simone agreed to the heavier sound on this record.

New Edenbridge rocks, I like it as well as their previous stuff too.  8-)  The new Tarja is capturing my attention as well.

True, but look on the bright side - now the banshee is teaching singing so in few years we will have "little vibekes" starting to do music :D also, mary has much better stage presence. And she is not bad at singing at all :)
