Hello everybody!!!
First I'd like to say thank you for all the kind words and for making me feel so welcome. You must be the greatest fans in the world!! One of the hardest things to do in a band is to replace someone. Especially a guy like Mats that I respect both as a singer and personally. We are very close friends and we have worked together a lot. Wish him all the best! I will do my very best to not disappoint anyone on the upcoming tour. Wacken was my first gig with the band and I met the guys just two days before we went down there. I think it was one of the greatest time of my life when we finally got up on that stage and and met some of you guys. Yes, I messed up some lyrics. (A heat of a moment thing...  )and we work with a wireless in ear system and I had constant drop outs witch means that I could not hear a thing of what I sang or what the guys played in some songs. But I had a ball up there and I loved it! Another great thing is that we all get along so well in the band. I really love the guys(and girls of course) and they make me feel like I belong in the "family"!! Can't wait to meet you all somwhere on tour!! Just come up and say hi!! It would be an honor to me!!

First of all, you did a superb job in Wacken. I though it was magical and beyond.
Mats is perhaps one of the best singers in the world, and yes, it's hard to replace someone like him. But, you did an excellent job with that. You have a more clean voice that Mats harsh, raspy voice. Both of you adds to the flavour.
When you sang Sons of the Staves of Time, whoa. Euphoria vibes flew down my spines, I must admit. Almost a tear fell down ! Hehe.

Ah yes the Wacken show.. it was actually my first Therion show so I have no reference to Mats on stage, but I do agree with the person that said that Thomas was a bit nervous. At least he seemed that way to me compared to the others. But then again I dont blame him at all for that.. he'll grow in his role over time. I'm sure of that.

Anyway I thought Therion was the best show that I saw all weekend and I took some pics from the second row (Would have been first row had it not been for the fire before Amorphis. I had been camping out there for Amorphis and Therion since the very moment the festival area opened but lost the first row spot because we had to flee from the fire

But then again.. I pretty much know what im doing with my camera so that didnt stop me from taking some good pics (if I do say so myself hehe)

Then I think you'll get disappointed because he does sound like Mats. Well not 100%, but 90% for sure...

@Thomas: Welcome to Therion. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing ) you in Belgrade in December.
And a small tip about the lyrics. With the most of metal bands you can screw up the lyrics all the time without anyone ever noticing. But NOT with Therion. Therion lyrics are very important for a lot of people. There is even a whole subforum dedicated to discussing the lyrics.

well, I am not disappointed and was not at all disappointed while watching the show.
I pretty much think that he's himself, and much more than just a replacement for Mats - I truly hope this was everybody's intention as well.

Maybe we just got different impressions from watching the show on different "media" so to speak - online and on spot; maybe it's also a result of the emotional background while watching his first performance with Therion and of the expectations we had from him.
As far as I could hear, Thomas' voice is cleaner and more "round" than Mats', at least in those songs that are Mats-"branded" where you could really try to compare them. It could be also that he has an excellent control of his voice in general, including the range involved in those songs I'm talking above.

As I said, I also think - from the short set I could hear at Wacken - that Thomas' voice is extremely versatile and somehow I heard there, at Wacken, a promise that this will make possible for new songs to be performed on stage...
However, by saying this I don't want to end up in a comparison saying that X is better than Y, 'cause both of them are outstanding voices, but I think each with its own identity.
