I'm painting the band and I apologise for not knowing what I am doing in regards to the use of submissions to forums. I usually just turn up and read these things. I notice that someone said I should start a new thread and I guess that means a new topic.
Well anyway I have posted before about my planning to paint the band and I have started the drawing and there's about 10 hours of work done to date. I would hope that people could take a look at the drawing and please leave comments. It makes me work harder.

Awsome. Didn't see the search box though. That sketch def makes Chris Johnson look like a blond ozzy. Which is what I think he looked like with long hair.

Yes, I'll update regularily and hopefully get to start on the painting soon.

The sketches are indeed very nice! I can't really visualise what the final product will be like though. So I'll be looking forward to your updates!

I have finally finished the drawing stage and it's up on my website.

I am sorry I've taken so long but I have had to paint a commissioned piece of a racehorse. It's unfortunate that when I finished the person who requested could only pay $200. It took 66 hours and there's around $50 worth of materials. Oh well. On top of this I have been having a nervous breakdown due to all kinds of external factors.

I would also like to thank Thomas Vikstrom for his kind words and encouragement.

I hope to finish this painting in two weeks and if enough people think it's good enough I will probably put it up for sale on e-bay. I wouldn't set a too high minimum but the freight costs for something this size is not cheap.

As of yesterday I became homeless. I was assaulted and threatened with a mattock for complaining about having my belongings stolen and as it's unsafe I've moved my possessions to my parents garage. I was prior to this having a nervous breakdown so please bear with me. There's little I can do until I find a home. As soon as I do I will work flat out to finish it. Life sometimes is hard for people with severe personality disorders.

I have finally got myself into my own home and have resumed work on the painting. There have been changes to my website from before. It's no longer powered by wordpress but plain old html. So no search box, sorry, but have a look around and check out my other work. I've got 43 hours of work in and hopefully real soon I'll finish it. I will then post here on the forum with a new address so people can see the finished work.

yeah, Snowy looks more realistic compared to the others

Indeed, Snowy looks more advanced in comparison to the others. They all look like Geisha now, or maybe someone who underwent a plastic operation.

Anyhow, it's going really well! I'm loving the way it looks.

Snowy and the brothers look very good,have you thought of going with darker shades around the outer parts of the painting and toning down the overall brightness also.Look at some dark impressionist paintings by someone like Francois-Nicolas Chifflart (for an overall tone for the painting.It looks like you are trying to bring more attention to the faces than the original picture had.You don't have to to this for it to be a good painting.Snowy looks most lifelike and he is a attention getter so having him the brightest would not be paying any disservice to anyone else in the band.http://www.artnet.com/artists/lotdetailpage.aspx?lot_id=02BB6D391F5AA0CF (One example could not find the perfect one)

Okay, what happened with Katarina Lilja? She looks old!
But as I said before, I really like Snowy Shaw and alslo the Niemann brothers look quite good.

The painting looks as closely as possible to the original source image (apart from the color cast) and if they look a little strange or odd then that's inherit with the process. I think they look awesome! As for Katarina Lilja she looks like Katarina Lilja!! I understand that the process of converting an image from the internet, through first Photoshop and then my mind, and then re photographing the image creates 'differences' but I hope people will remember that this is a dramatic portrait and I have in cases 'played' with the lightness and darkness a little to increase the dramatic effect. i regard it as easily one of my best portraits and as a homage to all of the most incredibly beautiful music I have ever heard. I hope that each of the band members can view the work and let me know what they think.
