Guess if people want a 100% accurate copy of the original, they can just as well print it. Since this is your job, you should not explain why you changed the looks even a bit.
Congrats with your job!

The painting looks as closely as possible to the original source image (apart from the color cast) and if they look a little strange or odd then that's inherit with the process. I think they look awesome! As for Katarina Lilja she looks like Katarina Lilja!! I understand that the process of converting an image from the internet, through first Photoshop and then my mind, and then re photographing the image creates 'differences' but I hope people will remember that this is a dramatic portrait and I have in cases 'played' with the lightness and darkness a little to increase the dramatic effect. i regard it as easily one of my best portraits and as a homage to all of the most incredibly beautiful music I have ever heard. I hope that each of the band members can view the work and let me know what they think. :-D
great job, nevertheless all remarks ;)

After having a better look at the original image and making some very subtle changes it was repainted about two weeks ago. Then the new image was uploaded to the site. The changes were; correcting Johann's right eye, Katarina's forehead (which was what made her look old (my friend Time said she looked like ET!)) and Chris's skin tone was changed. What I found difficult was painting only in a black/white/grey range of tones. My black paint (Chromacolour - worlds best acrylic) doesn't look really black until you add a little gloss. The colors usually dry to a a very matt finish. So with all the very dark greys it was very difficult to get the right tone. It's also difficult to photograph the artwork itself - I only have a $100 digital camera. I'm not the wealthiest person so I have to make do with what I have.
Once again I'd like to thank all the people who have visited the site. Also thanks to Thomas Vikstrom for the words of encouragement.
If you e-mail a comment and it's 'family-friendly', doesn't matter if its critical, I'll post the comments on the page :-D
