miskolc- last show with the old lineup?
« on: December 05, 2009, 07:05:17 PM »
I was in the record store the other day and there it is- a big fat sticker on the miskolc experience saying this is the last show with the neiman/nieman/petter/leven/johnson lineup. Ok maybe true technically mats is not in the anniversary but why do they keep promoting this as the last release of the old linup when the anniversary tour is really the last release with them. Mats isn't even a member so he doesn't count anyway.

They probably won't release the Anniversary Tour DVD. It's not a joke releasing three DVDs in so little time, the band wouldn't have that much profit from it.

Honestly, I'd kill them if they not release it. They could exchange the GK tour DVD for the anniversary one.

But since I think you made a joke, it's most probably that this sticker was printed wrong.

Well, maybe, but what's done is done. I don't know much about the music industry, but it sounds too risky to me. Don't you agree?

Personally, I enjoyed Live Gothic, but think it could have been much better - especially the light effects. Son of the Staves of Time with green lights? Naah.

About the Anniversary Tour, I've seen recordings by fans on youtube and it looks really theatrical and good both to the sight and ear. I hope The Siren of the Woods by Lori and Thomas V is released, it looks like a great version!

I almost wonder if they wont record some material from this upcoming tour then combine that with the anniversary tour and release a big box set like Celebrators.

Live Gothic was a good realease but one of those things like "Good, but don't do it again". It has way too much editing in the studio or too much stuff on tape I guess. It doesn't have the truly live feel and you can here a lot of vocal overdubs and such.

I'd say the anniversary tour probably will be their best release. I can't see them not releasing it. It is the best song lineup ever, some really great performances etc.

Sure it is so... as it was one of the very last gigs (except the guest starring on the anniversary tour in Paris), where Mats Levén appeared.

mats isn't a band member. By that logic the line up is different every tour anyway! I think the big change is petter and the niemans leaving. Thus anniversary tour is the last disc. with the old lineup.
