Wine of Aluqah
« on: January 25, 2005, 08:13:00 PM »
I do a study of everyone of the songs that I play in guitar... now I'm doing Wine of Aluqah and I need your interpretation of these lyrics...

At first... what means and in which language is this:

El-Awer Talbis Iblis Gulshan-i Raz Zat i- Shaitan Ya Zat-i Shaitan

 ??

I was reading Angels & Demons (from the autor of Code Da Vinci... a little bit written like a "best seller") and there I read  that   shaitan    means: enemy   in arabian...??

I think this is more a question for the guys at the TS, but perhaps (  :offtopic:  ?) you may take a look at the Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses. On the second chapter, Rushdie makes a very poetic introduction of Shaitan... which actually becomes a character on the book.

Those words roughly mean "go wild the devil Shaitan"

That song is ridiculously good.  :)

It has such a dark, evil feel to it, yet at the same time is very invigorating.

Are the lyrics in Arabic, then?

Wrong. They might be in Turkish, but I can tell you they are NOT in arabian. And if they're not in Turkish, then they're shit.

They are in Arabian because one Arab living in Croatia told me so and said what it roughly means.

I read the introductions of the books, where the author says what's true and what is not.

And in the fiction part, that guy isn't very brilliant. When u r reading Da Vinci Code, you ae waiting an Xpectacular ending.... but I think the author was afraid of writing something very.... impossible and NO-real...

Hmm I think I need to clarify a few things about my posts here :

Shaitan is actually the "Adversary" (what it means litteraly) in Muslim as well as Kabbalistic mythos. (Although the Kabbalah doesn't give it the highest title among the demons or whatnot)

Iblis is considered to be a different aspect of the same entitity...

The words that make me say "this is crap" is the other words in the sentence... Any arab will tell you Shaitan and Iblis they know of, but the rest of the lyrics are not words in Arabian... but as I said, they might be in Turkish, because the Turks took the names Shaitan and possibly Iblis, and created their mythology including them... I've been told they couldn't translate everything of the Qur'an and so made up other parts or something... I'd have to check back my sources on this last part though...

Anyway, the point is that it is a doubtful (yet again) sentence using "real" names of beings in mythologies which make it look rather cool and well-written... Black Rose... just a thought... but maybe you would prefer understanding the exact meaning of a statement before making it your signature? Anyway, it's just something I wouldn't do, feel free to use any signature you want...

It doesn't taste that bad.......you just need someone that is willing to give you a taste.

A technique I learned (from the same sort of situation) is get your tongue really covered in saliva and just use it to transfer the stuff down your throat. Usually there is little to no taste.

Only then they're mixed together! It's like making that yummy orange sauce with ketchup and mayo!
